Theory

I've been very much into color combinations lately…

Art class assignment: Create a sketchbook to illustrate your concept of dreams.
Inspired by Banksy.

The quotes are taken from a 2009 Carnegie International exhibit we visited. Overall really fun to work on :)

Potential colorwork item (I have yet to decide on a pattern :P ):

Leftover yarn to be combined! I really, really want to try my hand at colorwork (especially with my knitting friends making awesome things with it!). Possibly a hat, to match my blue coat…

Painting class project:
Inspired by Edgar Degas.

Along with those and other WIP's, I've gotten back into the swing of things, starting with THE RAVELYMPICS SOCKS FROM THE SUMMER. THE. SUMMER.
Second Sock Syndrome is a cuuuurse :(

"Quitter" is such a dirty word

I'm not quitting. Really.

It's just that the Ravelympics are over in four days. It took twelve days just to make the first sock (well, partly because for most of the first eight days, I was on the beach, and sand in your yarn is not pleasant, and we'd go out a lot at night too, and shut up I was on vacation :P )

And don't get me wrong, it is a lovely sock . . .

But I am a slow knitter :/

I'm not giving up, though. I'll knit as much of the second sock as I can, and if I don't finish, well, I don't finish.
I won't get a medal, but hey, I took the challenge. I'll finish this race anyway :)

At least I still have comfort food.

Eight days a week

I've been doing this:

It's seen May-Treanor and Walsh team it up . . .

It's seen Phelps take his 7th gold by one one-hundredth of a second . . .

The games aren't over, and the foot is on the way . . .
Haha typing all these dots is fun . . . :P

On my way home at the moment. While you're waiting check the latest TKaCM and find me (hint: I appear twice ;) )!

On the road again . . .

Day 1: I say "Screw looking normal, I'll be in the car all day and I wanna wear a green ribbon with a purple shirt, darn!!!"

We are not exactly the lightest of packers (and note that this picture does not show the explosion inside).

We also like to take some stops now and then :)

Day 2: I'm more fashionably dressed today :P
We stopped at Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, where I embraced my inner Georgia O'Keefe.

And tonight, the Games began!

Have a good week!

This cannot end well

I have discovered the Knitting Olympics and its partner, the Ravelympics.
Well, technically I already knew about them, but I had no idea what actually went on :P

So, I, the Olympics' number-one fan (it's pretty much the only sports program I watch ever), have decided to go for it.

My challenge? Pomatomus, in my Plymouth Dreambaby DK.
(Yes, I know I blogged about doing this pattern before, shut up, SHUT UP!)

And like the real Olympics, it will probably be filled with dangerous screw-ups, tears of frustration, and lots of screaming. Oh, me and my big ideas!

By the way, Happy 4th (am currently in New York, will be busy tomorrow, so am making the announcement early)!!!
Go Team USA!!!
Help me!!!
